About -- Rev. Dr. Roger M. Sobin
For over thirty years, I have been a mystery fan, reader, collector, and conference attendee. Also, I have created a number of short stories and working on a novel. In the past, I have published a number of articles in religious education journals.
I am an ordained Presbyterian minister and have served churches in Verona, New Jersey; Bradford, Pennsylvania, and San Antonio, Texas. In the middle of that time I served in the United States Air Force as a Chaplain for twenty years serving in: California, Johnston Atoll (Pacific), Texas, Mississippi, Philippines, Washington, Spain, Germany, and again in Texas.
I belong to the follow organizations and societies: America Academy of Religion (AAR), Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), International Bonhoeffer Society. In some spare time I teach classes on The History of the English Bible, The Life of John Calvin, The Influence of Calvin to Today, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
I am also a member of Mystery Writers of America. From time to time I speak to small groups on reading mystery books today.
Genie and I live in Helotes, Texas on the edge of San Antonio.
